First Year Engineering

FE Coordinator’s message: On behalf of all the staff at First Year of Engineering, I extend my warm greetings to all. FE department is the entry point for all budding Engineers to their Engineering courses. This is the first step in Engineering which is a very important one. Students spend one year n the FE department which is considered their foundation year. This period also serves as the transition period from their Basic Education to Professional Education. The objective of the FE department at St. John College of Engineering and Mana ement is to welcome and establish the students in the Engineering courses comfortably. We provide students with assistance and guidance to overcome their concerns. We offer students opportunities and challenges to enable them to enhance their strengths. We believe in establishing clarity amongst students and guiding them kindly and firmly with regards to discipline. The subjects in the First Year of Engineering are common to all branches of Engineering. The Teaching-Learning process at FE level is outcome-based and is aimed at inculcating problem solving approach and confidence among students. In addition to academics, there are various activities conducted to cater to the all-round development of students which include Poster Making Competition, Proficiency Tests, Creative arts, Soft Skills Development, Sports, Universal Human Values, Mentoring, etc. We, the staff members at FE department, also ensure our own personal growth. We keep ourselves updated with the current trends in our respective field of expertise. Our efforts in continuous education are marked by attending various certified / recognised development programmes, courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, R & D sessions, Research Publications, etc. conducted by recognised bodies / organisations. Finally, we all strive for imparting quality education to our students while making their experience with us an enjoyable one.
